In my last blog post I talked about my health and fitness goals for 2020, but this year I have lots more goals that I’m hoping to fulfil. Although the goals in this post are not directly health and fitness related, they will all help me to lead a healthier and more positive lifestyle.
Travel goals for 2020
I love travelling and exploring new places, both in the UK and abroad, so over the next 12 months I’m hoping to do a lot more travelling. I’ve already got my first trip to Scotland booked when I go to Edinburgh to run the marathon in May. I’m really excited to explore this city and if you have any recommendations of what to see and where to eat, let me know in the comments section below.
I’ve also got a couple of trips to Cardiff booked this year – firstly in the spring to watch the Wales rugby team play in the 6 Nations and then again in the autumn to run the Cardiff half marathon.
As I didn’t get to travel abroad much last year due to starting a new job, this year I’m hoping to make up for it with a few more overseas trips with Budapest, Spain and Paris all on my wishlist for 2020.
Lifestyle goals for 2020
This year I’m aiming to be more mindful and less wasteful.
Often I will mindlessly scroll through social media and, although I try to keep my social sites positive places, I’m aware that too much time on social media is likely to be having a negative impact on my wellbeing. This is why this year I’m aiming to be more mindful with when I use social media and try to cut down the amount of time I spend on the sites.
Another area of my lifestyle that I’m trying to be more mindful about is what I buy, particularly when it comes to buying clothes. This year I want to try to buy less but better quality so that it will last longer and I will be less wasteful.
Reading goals for 2020
I love reading, so this year I have signed up to do the good reads challenge and have set myself the ambitious goal of reading 50 books this year. I’m hoping to read lots of books on health and fitness, as well as inspiring and self-help books that focus on wellbeing.
Creative goals for 2020
I believe that being creative, whether it is writing, drawing or simply cooking, has a positive impact on our wellbeing. This is why this year I’m planning to indulge in a lot more creativity.
Along with my passion for writing I also love photography, so I’m hoping to take more creative photos this year, especially from my outdoor adventures and hikes. As well as this, I’m hoping to be more creative in the kitchen and creating new and healthy recipes, which I’m planning to share on this blog over the next 12 months.
