Every day, older people should do some kind of exercise. It can help you get healthier and lower your chances of having a heart attack or stroke.

Every day, even if it’s just light activity, you should be active. At least two days a week, do things that make you stronger, more balanced, and more flexible. If you are already active, do at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity activity or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity activity, or a mix of both. Also, try to spend less time sitting or lying down and break up long periods of not moving with some activity. If you have health problems or concerns, talk to a doctor first. Choose an activity and intensity that suit your fitness level.
